Rachel Clemens / President & Creative Director
Rachel is an interactive and graphic designer with international experience. She’s worked on three continents and traveled to over 30 countries, learning the cross-cultural aspects of great design. Rachel’s found influence in everything from Slovenian graffiti to Australian aboriginal art and believes that when you experience creativity it follows you everywhere.
After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Rachel worked with Traffic Interactive in London, England, and JSA Design in Brisbane, Australia, along with Tocquigny Advertising and Jolly Design in Austin, Texas. In 2005, Rachel started Creative Suitcase to better connect with clients and their businesses.
She specializes in high-end creative direction and strategy for local, national and international clients including Dell, AMD, HP, Homeway and The University of Texas. Rachel’s work as both a designer and creative director has been recognized with multiple Austin and national advertising awards. With over twelve years of experience, Rachel brings marketing know-how and creative solutions to every project.
As a born entrepreneur, Rachel is also a Partner in SwapYourShop, an online community that enables creative professionals to swap home and office spaces, across the US or around the world, while continuing to work remotely for their current employer.
Favorite travel destination:
Dubrovnik, Croatia. Dubrovnik is a wondrous and strange mixture of Italian and Eastern European influences.
Place you’d like to travel next:
I’ve always wanted to volunteer in Africa.
Something that’s always in your suitcase:
Sunscreen, chapstick and a good book.
Favorite word:
Precocious.
What gets your creativity pumping?
Traveling (obviously), overhearing conversations and reading.
If you weren’t working in advertising, what would you be doing?
I wanted to be a Psychologist in high school. Now I think I’d love to be a Zoologist.
Would you rather be able to fly or turn invisible?
I want to fly like an eagle.
