Challenge

Update the look and feel of the SafePlace brand and logo.

Create a brand that equally represents SafePlace’s two focuses: domestic violence and sexual assault.

Express the idea that SafePlace is a refuge where survivors, support networks, donors and volunteers gather to help one another.

Solution

Create a logo that is bold in purpose while being memorable and appropriate for the audience.

Communicate the organization’s persona and position as a refuge of healing, shelter, empowerment and protection by surrounding the people icon with a protective barrier.

Utilize purple and teal in the logo, the traditional colors used to represent domestic violence and sexual assault.

Use human figures to relay the message that we are all in the this together and SafePlace unites survivors, supporters, donors and volunteers in one safe place.
